Ekiti State, in partnership with Discover Ekiti, is poised to host the much-anticipated 6th edition of the Hike Ekiti Mountain Safari.

Renowned for its breathtaking landscapes and historical significance, Ekiti boasts a plethora of mountains and hills that hold profound cultural importance to its communities.

The event, organized by the Discover Ekiti Tourism Club, is strategically designed to spotlight Ekiti as a premier destination for mountain tourism adventures, aiming to attract both local and international tourists.

The governor has underscored the immense potential of leveraging the state’s natural resources to drive economic growth, emphasizing the significance of mountain tourism in this endeavor.

With its stunning rock formations, ridges, inselbergs, and beautiful hills, Ekiti offers a unique and captivating landscape that is ripe for exploration and adventure. The governor’s commitment to promoting tourism in Ekiti aligns with the overarching goal of the Hike Ekiti Mountain Safari – to showcase the state’s natural beauty and cultural heritage on a global stage.

Building on the success of previous editions, the upcoming event promises an immersive and unforgettable experience for participants. Guided hikes through scenic trails, exhilarating caving explorations, and visits to iconic landmarks such as Abanijorin Cave and Mountain are just a few of the activities planned for attendees. Moreover, tourists will have the opportunity to explore other notable attractions, including the renowned Ikogosi Warm Spring, the majestic Arinta Water Falls, and the educational ABUAD Planetarium.

The inaugural edition of the Hike Ekiti Mountain Safari, held in April 2019, garnered widespread acclaim and attracted a diverse array of tourists from both within and outside Nigeria. Through a strategic combination of traditional and digital media, the event showcased Ekiti’s natural splendor to the world, raising its profile as a must-visit destination for adventure enthusiasts and nature lovers alike. Since then, the Hike Ekiti Mountain Safari has played a pivotal role in driving tourist visitation to the state, contributing to Ekiti’s recognition as the recipient of the prestigious Naija 7 Wonders Award for Destination Promotion in 2020.


  1. This year’s edition promises an array of captivating experiences, including guided hikes and immersive experiences at Abanijorin Cave and Mountain will offer participants a unique opportunity to explore the natural wonders of Ekiti.
    i. Hike & Trail Abanijorin Mountain Safari
    ii. Go Caving through the under ground rock tunnel
    iii. Visit the Ancient Amphitheatre Natural Cave that can accommodate over 250 person in a sitting
    iv. Explore The Table Plateau at the peak of Abanijorin Mountain 900meters above the sea level
  2. The Event activity schedule also include tours of Ikogosi Warm Spring, visits to Arinta Water Falls, adventure journeys to space at ABUAD Planetarium, and medical tourism tours of ABUAD International Multi-System Hospital.
