The Special Adviser to the Governor of Cross River State, on Obudu Ranch resort, Honourable Bobby Ekpenyong has said that the resort will be a major revenue earner for Cross River State Government and will be self-Sustaining from the first quarter of next year.
Speaking over the weekend while he played host to hundreds of holiday makers at the prestigious resort, Honorable Ekpenyong expressed optimism that the resort has the potential to generate enough revenue to run its operations and remit to the state coffers contributing to the states IGR.
“Over the weekend we played host to large number of guests right here in the ranch I think over a hundred of them and they were all satisfied and had so much fun and most of them promised to be back.”
Continuing Ekpenyong said, ” the patronage we have today is down to the brilliance of His Excellency our digital Governor who upon seeing what the pandemic has done to the world , had the foresight to upgrade facilities at the ranch for holiday seekers to take advantage of post Covid19. “
Ekpenyong stated that “To whom much is given much is expected and I can authoritatively say that Obudu ranch will be self-sustainable from next year and we will begin to remit revenue into government coffers as well thereby contributing our own quota to revenue generation in the state” he said.
He thanked Governor Ayade for standing by him to get the ranch back on it’s feet and to her pride of place among tourism destinations across the country.
“Cross Riverians must thank God every day for our Governor who is poised to revamp all Cross River assets and get them working again. Governor Ayade has shown firm commitment to the ranch and I thank him for all the support in getting the ranch back to its full capacity. With the construction of Obudu international cargo airport, all problems of access to the ranch will be solved and we will be ready to take full advantage of that airport” Ekpenyong said.
