The 2nd Edition of the Wonders of Africa Webinar featured several fascinating destinations Including the South African Vacation Playground called Sun City which actually has a world-famous Past, it began as a bit of a ‘sin-city’ where affluent guests could gamble when it was illegal to do so elsewhere in the country.
Sun International’s Didier Bayeye, who is also the team leader representing South Africa on the Wonders of Africa Project spoke extensively about the exotic Sun City Resort which he described as being the Pride of the Africa.
Home to the Valley of Waves and sprawled along the border of the Pilanesberg National Park, Sun City Resort enjoys the fine distinction of being the only surf-and-safari destination within a two-hour drive of landlocked Johannesburg.
Calling itself “a world within a city,” the Sun City resort complex includes hotels, The Palace of the Lost City, two Gary Player-designed golf courses, the Valley of the Waves waterpark, a casino, one of South Africa’s best concert and sports venues, and much more. Many of the resort’s activities are designed to attract families with children.
The resort has expanded a great deal over the decades, with the establishment of several hotels to suit different budgets opening the resort to more than just the upper-class. Whether you’re looking for a romantic stay with your partner, a fun weekend getaway with friends or a North West holiday with the whole family, Sun City Resort has it all.
