West African Carrier, Air Senegal has announced an increase in its flight frequencies on the Dakar-Douala-Libreville line via Cotonou to up to five rotations per week giving a boost to connection in the sub region.

According to energycapitalpower.com, the airline was previously running Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays, the addition of a Friday flight passage will help to improve the strategic and business connectivity of Western and Central Africa.

The route connects the largest cities of Senegal, Cameroon, Gabon and Benin- the economic capitals of Benin and Cameroon and the political capitals of Gabon and Senegal- along a single transit path.

These improvements come in response to recent growth in these countries’ economies and transnational cooperation for business and development.

Changes will be effective from April 29 this year, utilizing Airbus A319 and A321 aircraft for the additional weekly passage. Previously, flight frequencies on this route had been increased to four times per week as of December 4, 2021, having launched in March that year.

Although Air Senegal offers air bridges to 20 destinations including Europe and the Americas, the surprise success of its Dakar-Douala-Libreville line via Cotonou stands testament to the robust recovery of these countries from the recent pandemic and corresponding movement restrictions, building back stronger in its aftermath.
