Kenya Airways’ Jambojet, is scheduled to begin commercial flights in April 2014. Initia flights will be within Kenya, linking Nairobi with Mombasa, Eldoret and Kisumu. Bookings commenced in February 2014.
Jambojet will launch with fares as low as Kshs3,000 (US$35) one way. The Kshs3,000 fare compares favourably with road transport options which cost as much as Kshs1,500 for an eighthour journey from Nairobi to Mombasa.
A flight on the same route lasts approximately 45 minutes with a jet powered aircraft. However, the low price of Jambojet air tickets may only apply for those booking well in advance.
