Africa: Liberia Vice President Visits Calabar Ahead Of Carnival 2019


Vice President of Liberia, Senator Jewel Howard Taylor has paid a visit to home of Africa’s biggest street party, Cross Rivers State, Calabar ahead of the annual carnival scheduled to hold in the capital.

The Senator is in the state to participate in the third Dry Run taking place in Calabar on the 15th of December 2019.

According to Ikechi Uko on his facebook post top government dignitaries from Nigeria and the state will be taking part in the dry run. The Liberian Vice President had earlier paid a visit to the leader of the Seagul band, Senator Florence Ita Gowa.

The post list the dignitaries to include: “Vice President of Liberia Senator Jewel Howard Taylor visiting Senator Ita Giwa Seagull bands mas Camp today was an Epic event.

“The Conservator General of the National Park Services Alhaji Ibrahim Goni with his Park Controller Caroline Olory the First Female Park Controller in West Africa along with the Representative of the Minister of Women Affairs Madam Pauline Tallen represented by Prisca Ann Chinonso were the Special Guests today at Senator Ita Giwa residence. We observed a mini Garment factory where Costumes were in production for the Carnival with Over 50 tailors at Work.”

The 3rd Dry Run is Sunday the 15th and already the VIPs are Savouring the Offerings. The Carnival is an Industry and like Tourism it enriches all.”
