Avianca Airlines, based in Bogota, Colombia, has claimed the title of the most on-time global airline, setting a new standard for punctuality.
The airline secure 85.73% on time arrival with a total of 213,039 flights to sit comfortably top of the table.
Other airlines in the category according to cirium.com, are Brazilian Carrier, Azul Airlines, 85.51% with total flights of 310,972, Qatar Airways, 85.11% with total flights of 183,090, Delta Air Lines, 84.72% with total flights of 1,635,486 and Iberia Airlines, 84.38%, with total of 170,750.
Cirium defines on-time arrivals as a “flight that arrives within 15 minutes of the scheduled gate arrival. For an airport, it is defined as departing within 15 minutes of its scheduled departure.”
