The journey to being recognized as Top 100 Tourism Professional in Nigeria for Eyitayo Ayoola came from years of hard work and persistence in building a career close to two decades. The astute administrator spoke on his award and more
The name Eyitayo Rotimi Ayoola is one known among practitioners in the Tourism sector. Having gained several years of experience in building Tourism at various levels.
Currently the Group General Manager of Esporta Group, he is an alumnus of University of Ilorin and Lagos Business School. Eyitayo obtained a professional Diploma in Digital Marketing from DM3 Institute Dubai, a Master’s Degree in Hotel and Restaurants Management from Synergy University Dubai Campus(in view)(2014-2015) and Advanced Human Resources Management (2018).
His career has seen him work as HR Manager at The American University of Nigeria, Yola before his current employment. He was at one time the International Project Coordinator of the Black Culture and Arts Foundation (BCAA) for five years between 2010 and 2015.
He therefore has worked his way into becoming a thoroughbred professional who is bent on playing his part in the growth of the tourism sector.
Asked his views on the tourism sector in Nigeria: “Tourism in Nigeria is currently developing but lacks priority listing at the federal. The federal government should look inwards to the huge potentials in the sector and help it grow”
With the overdependence on oil and gas making many wonder where lies the fate of other non-oil sectors of the country, Eyitayo said.
“With right motivation in investment generation, tax incentives and infrastructure development, the Tourism sector has the capacity to generate thrice of the current oil and gas revenue .This would happen in the nearest future. Watch out”.
While applauding the growth of African tourism, he pointed out Good governance as one stumbling block.
“Leadership, performance and political will are key ingredients needed to make the continents tourism grow like what obtains in Dubai and others “he added.
