Why waste your time? 5 years ago, I decided to travel to SA for my 50th birthday with my family. After all the run around (despite having a 10-year UK visa, 2 year US visa, a UAE residence permit, a 3yr Canadian visa, I decided to change my plans and go where I am wanted. We have to vote with our feet and go where we are wanted! We eventually went to Marrakesh, Morocco which turned out to be one of the loveliest holidays we have ever had!

You are totally right with this write up but you would have submitted in Abuja because of the short notice but 13days should be enough to evaluate an application. I submitted mine since Mid-January,2017 with departure date to be March 20th,2017 to spend 9 nights in Durban for vacation. As a travel/tourism Consultant based in Lagos (CEO of WesternBond Travels & Tourism Promotions) i found it ridiculous that visa applications at the South African Consulate would take so long despite the timelines given by South African High Commission in Nigeria for the processing of each application to be minimum of 6 working days (www.vfsglobal.com/southafrica/nigeria/). I guess i still have more time on my side before 20th March, but with your report i m expecting the worst. Apart from the recent unbearable killings in South Africa,it is a universally desirable country for holiday and tourism due to its glorious attractions and cultural diversity.
