There are multiple, easy to understand, reasons why Ethiopian Airlines occupies its' place as the premier airline in Africa...and...why ALL the airlines in Nigeria (today, and in previous years) are moribund, profit-less and unlikely to navigate themselves into positions of emulation, global operations and profitable futures. There are NO individuals, no organizations, no company (nor companies) and no governmental agency or administration which has the political will, intestinal fortitude and the character - to 'surgically remove' the tentacles of the Nigerian government - from the 'host' aviation industry. Those poisonous, life ending, tentacles have killed every single airline that has ever existed in Nigeria. Every one. Ethiopian Airlines - found a strategy which allows the Ethiopian 'government' to partner with the airline, benefit from the professional relationship, secure an incremental income stream (which is actually 'profit-sharing) and for the government to STAY OUT of the day-to-day operations of the airline. As long as ONE person in the Nigeria federal government maintains influence, dominance or decision making of an airline - that airline will suffer. There is little confidence that what has happened in Ethiopia - and been the SPECIFIC reason the airline is flourishing - will EVER happen in Nigeria. Nigeria - should be...and COULD be - the home of the largest, most profitable, most popular and safest airline on the continent; possibly, TWICE the size of Ethiopian. 'Murphy's Law' is a well known parable - around the world. It states that 'whatever can possibly go wrong with a plan, an idea, an effort, etc., WILL go wrong...and at the worst possible time'. Murphy's Law has been memorialized IN GRANITE STONE in Nigeria. The history of commercial aviation in Nigeria COULD NOT be worse: fatal crashes, 100% failure of all airline companies, miserable places to work, obscene and unconscionable monetary losses for the Nigerian citizens and taxpayers - and the outlook for the coming decade is just as bleak. More than SEVEN DECADES of airline operations in Nigeria has resulted in the woeful status of the country's industry today: lifeless, financially broke, psychologically scarred, visionless, rudderless, largely ignored by the global community - with scores of near obsolete, tired, dirty and poorly maintained aircraft which have little value left in them. Basically, the entire Nigerian airline industry is broke, mismanaged, marginally operational, bleeding - and NO ONE in Nigeria knows how to perform 'triage' and save the industry. There is plenty of money. Plenty of opportunity. Plenty of interest in the global community to see a country's airline industry COME ALIVE in Nigeria. Plenty of capable talent who can 'buy into' an achievable business plan and work than plan. Plenty of real, practical, assistance available. Plenty of banking businesses ready to establish working relationships with a REAL airline...AND...plenty of passengers ready and willing to pay to fly a safe, well-managed, profitable and respected airline. Equally important with the business acumen and airline 'savvy' to transform the airline industry in Nigeria - is the motivation, courage, enthusiasm and PERSISTANCE to 'wean' the Nigerian government off of the prevalent philosophy of 'government owned and operated airlines'. Government owned and controlled airlines CANNOT be sustained. There is a way to PROVE that to the folks in Abuja - with a 12-Step program. That airline could exist in less than two years. Ethiopian could become the second largest airline in Africa.

Reply to 'Mobile Legends Hack': Thank you for the kudos. I have an extensive portfolio of commercial aircraft operations and maintenance. My philosophy and my crusade, is to continue to try to get African airline operators and governments - to abandon a woefully inadequate approach to airline flight operations - AND - airworthiness programs - then ADOPT the practical, prudent, profitable and sustainable concept that I - AND MANY OTHERS - are offering to the entire airline industry in Africa. I am focusing on Nigeria, I believe, because as the largest population, largest economy, and the MOST obvious dysfunctional airline community in all of Africa, the opportunity to make the MOST dramatic improvement in safety, efficiency and profitability is the greatest and - believe or not - the easiest to transform into an industry - ROBUST - in the numbers of airlines, employees, city-to-city connections , international civil aviation cooperation and PROFITABILITY. Cash flow and profit...are the 'life blood' of continued operations and sustainable existence (in any business - but critically required for airlines) - NOT - government infusions of cash and entangling alliances with airlines. The 'government' of Nigeria CLAIMS to place a priority on 'FLAG CARRIERS' and myriad other 'endorsements and promotions' for the industry - BUT - continues to tighten the stranglehold on the vital 'arteries and veins' of the airlines and is the SPECIFIC and unique CAUSE of the abysmal state on the industry. I have a plan, I have the way forward, I have developed the architecture needed for Nigerian airlines to flourish, BUT, I also, concede that I have not been successful in getting the decision makers in Nigeria to consider a seminal move away from government control and the creation of the BEST WAY to operate airlines.
