Africa: Akwa Ibom Projects Gain Federal Backing as Governor, Aviation Minister Tour Arise Palm Resort and Airport

Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno, has expressed optimism over the pace of ongoing tourism and aviation projects

In the state following an inspection tour with the Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Olorogun Festus Keyamo.
In a post on X, the governor said he toured the ARISE Palm Resort with the minister, who described the project as “mind blowing” and noted its strong synergy with the Victor Attah International Airport. The visit underscored the growing link between tourism development and aviation infrastructure in the state.


Governor Eno also accompanied the minister on an inspection of facilities at the airport, where Akwa Ibom State was commended for being ahead of schedule for the planned commencement of international flights in April 2026. The governor thanked President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for approving the airport upgrade and ensuring the timely release of funds, describing the developments as investments in the long-term economic benefit of the state.
