As part of efforts aimed at consolidating the implementation of key tourism sector frameworks and enhancing institutional coordination, the National Institute for Hospitality and Tourism (NIHOTOUR) has initiated its 2026 agenda with a strategic technical review session.

The engagement, held in collaboration with the Federal Ministry of Arts, Culture, Tourism and Creative Economy, provided an opportunity to assess progress recorded so far, align on implementation approaches, and reaffirm commitments to orderly execution in line with statutory mandates.

Discussions at the session focused on consolidation of ongoing work, clarity of processes, and the importance of structured stakeholder engagement to support effective governance and long-term sector stability. NIHOTOUR reaffirmed its commitment to institutional leadership, policy consistency, and sustained collaboration with relevant government bodies to ensure the successful delivery of national tourism development objectives.

The review session forms part of NIHOTOUR’s broader mandate to strengthen standards, deepen regulatory coherence, and support a more structured, competitive, and sustainable tourism and hospitality ecosystem in Nigeria.
