Kenya Airways has entered into a new codeshare agreement with U.S.-based low-cost carrier JetBlue Airways to broaden travel options between East Africa and key cities across the United States.

According to aviationweek.com, the partnership is expected to enhance connectivity, streamline ticketing, and provide passengers with more seamless transatlantic travel choices.

In a statement, Kenya Airways said it will place its flight code on JetBlue-operated services departing from John F. Kennedy International Airport in New York City to a number of destinations across the U.S.

“Under the partnership, Kenya Airways customers will be able to connect from New York to key U.S. cities including Los Angeles, Chicago, San Francisco, Orlando, Atlanta and Fort Lauderdale on JetBlue-operated flights,” according to the statement.

The agreement builds on Kenya Airways’ existing long-haul route between Nairobi and New York, which connects East Africa directly to the U.S. through the airline’s hub at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport.

As a member of the SkyTeam global airline alliance, Kenya Airways continues to rely on strategic partnerships to expand its global network and improve travel options for customers, the airline said.

“This collaboration supports our strategy to grow our global network through strong partnerships while delivering greater choice and a more seamless travel experience for our guests,” the airline said.

Kenya Airways in service fleet includes six Boeing 787-8s for long-haul routes alongside eight 737-800s and four Embraer E190 regional aircraft.
