Air Algérie has announced the launch of “Domestic Airlines,” a new subsidiary focused solely on serving local routes across Algeria.
The move comes alongside a major fleet boost, with 16 newly acquired ATR aircraft set to enhance connectivity and improve regional air travel within the country.
According to africa-news-agency.com, the initiative, endorsed by President Abdelmadjid Tebboune, follows the integration of Tassili Airlines.
With 32 aircraft being added, including Boeing and Airbus orders, Air Algérie’s fleet will reach 100 planes, reinforcing its ambition to position Algiers as a strategic African hub.
