ITA Airways has announced a significant expansion of its codeshare agreement with the Lufthansa Group, extending its network reach to key destinations across Africa and Asia. According to aviation24.be, tickets are now on sale for travel from September 2 onward.
The expanded deal allows ITA passengers to book flights under the AZ code to destinations in Africa – including Abidjan, Douala, Freetown, Monrovia, Nairobi, and Ouagadougou – via Brussels Airport. ITA’s code will also appear on Lufthansa Group flights to Delhi, Mumbai, and Seoul from Frankfurt and Munich.
In return, Lufthansa, Austrian Airlines, and Brussels Airlines passengers can now fly under a single ticket via Rome Fiumicino to ITA Airways destinations such as Bangkok, Jeddah, Cairo, Riyadh, Rio de Janeiro, São Paulo, Accra, Dakar, and Delhi. The move strengthens ITA’s partnership with Lufthansa Group, broadening the global network and enabling frequent flyer benefits across both Volare and Miles & More loyalty programs.
