Team Gambia kicked off its participation at the World Travel Market (WTM) 2025 in London with a dynamic series of high-level meetings, strategic discussions and networking engagements aimed at driving the country’s tourism growth and visibility on the global stage.
The Gambian delegation, comprising representatives from the Ministry of Tourism and Culture, the Gambia Tourism Board (GTBoard) and leading private sector operators, made a strong impression on the opening day, reaffirming the country’s status as one of West Africa’s most welcoming and promising travel destinations.

At the event, Team Gambia proudly showcased the country’s enduring tourism appeal; from its sun-kissed beaches along the Atlantic coast to its rich cultural heritage, eco-diversity, and reputation for warm hospitality. The delegation emphasized The Gambia’s unique positioning as a year-round destination, offering travelers a blend of relaxation, adventure, and cultural immersion. The Gambian team met with major international players including TUI, tour operators, travel agencies, and hoteliers. Discussions focused on expanding flight access, developing joint marketing campaigns, and enhancing destination experiences for global travelers.
Special attention was given to strengthening The Gambia’s partnerships with European tour operators, who continue to be a major source market for the destination, while exploring opportunities to diversify into new markets across Asia, the Middle East, and North America.
