Africa: Transcorp Hotels Abuja gets new CEO

The Transcorp Hotels team has announced a change in its management effective Jan 1st 2019.

Outgoing managing director, Valentine Ozigbo steps down as the MD/CEO to join Transcorpnigeria as the President/CEO while Owen Omogiafo who was a former executive director succeeds him as the MD/CEO of Transcorp Hotels Plc.

According to a statement by the Chairman Transcorp hotel, Tony Elumelu on the hotel’s instagram page, he said: “These executive appointments are a testament to our internal succession capacity and the appointees will build on the achievements of their predecessors”, he said.

“We thank our outgoing MD/CEO @valyntino for 7 amazing years, for all his hard work and accomplishments towards making Transcorp Hotels Plc the global brand that it is today and we welcome @owenomogiafo into the Transcorp Hotels Plc Family.

Subsequently, the board also approved the appointments of Ms. Obi Ibekwe and Mrs Oluwatoyin Sanni as Non-Executive Directors, following the retirement of Mr Kayode Fasola and Alhaji Abdulqadir Jeli Bello.

In addition to these, Emmanuel Nnorom becomes the Chairman of transcorphotelsplc, following the retirement of Alhaji Abdulqadir Jeli-Bello.

“By these appointments, we have further deepened our corporate governance capabilities, and firmed up our leadership position in the sectors we invest in”, says chairman Tony Elumelu.
