Government House

The Government House in Abia State, which was inaugurated in May 2023 by former Governor Okezie Ikpeazu, has now been turned into a hotel.

According to his successor, Dr. Alex Otti, the structure is a security risk to his life and Government House officials because it was built inside a private residential area according to freedomonline.

It also lacks necessary facilities.
Commissioner for Information, Okey Kanu, who spoke on behalf of Otti, disclosed that the structure does not have a functional elevator, while the interior of the upper floors was in shambles without necessary facilities.

“Only the first floor of the Government House was completed and furnished, while the upper ones are exposed to many structural defects despite huge public funds spent on the project”.
