Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno, has expressed satisfaction with the pace of work at the 250-room Ibom International Hotel, saying the project, originally initiated during the administration of former Governor, Senator Godswill Akpabio, has been successfully revived and is on course for completion within the next three months.
The Governor made the remarks shortly after inspecting the project at the close of the second day of the State Project Delivery Meeting. He led critical stakeholders, political leaders, captains of industry, and other participants on a tour of the hotel, located behind the Tropicana Entertainment Centre in Uyo.

Governor Eno explained that after presentations on the progress of government projects during the meeting, it was important for stakeholders to witness firsthand the remarkable transformation taking place at the hotel project, which had stalled for years before being revived by his administration.
Expressing confidence in the contractor’s performance, the Governor said:
“We felt it was important for our stakeholders to see the level of work going on here. From what I have seen today, I am confident the contractor will deliver this project within the next three months.”

Governor Eno described the hotel as a strategic investment that will boost tourism, attract conferences and business activities, create jobs, and further position Akwa Ibom as a preferred destination for investors and visitors.

He noted that construction activities across the state’s various development projects have continued to provide employment opportunities for both Akwa Ibom youths and other Nigerians, contributing significantly to economic growth.
According to the Governor: “This project is about more than a building. It is about creating jobs, growing our tourism sector, and expanding economic opportunities for our people.”

The project’s contractor assured the Governor and stakeholders that work is progressing according to schedule and pledged to deliver the hotel within the projected three-month timeline, expressing confidence that, by the grace of God, the project would be completed as promised.
The inspection formed part of activities for the State Project Delivery Meeting, giving participants the opportunity to assess firsthand the progress of key infrastructure projects being executed by the Akwa Ibom State Government.
Governor Umo Eno earlier visited the Arise Palm Resort, reaffirming September as the commissioning month while unveiling its sustainability plan.
