As part of efforts to get the Obudu Ranch Resort back to its best and running at full capacity, Cross River State governor, Prof Ben Ayade have commenced repairs/maintenance work of the cable car at the ranch.
Speaking during the test run of the cable car after maintenance work was completed, the Special Adviser on Obudu ranch resort Honorable Bobby Ekpenyong stated that Governor Ben Ayade is fully committed to bring the Obudu Ranch Resort back to its pride of place in the tourism and hospitality sector in the country.
He said ” Governor Ayade has given his commitment of returning the facilities at the ranch to its best and we are delighted to announce to you that the cable car is ready for use by the public.”
Continuing Honourable Ekpenyong said ” This is in addition to other major renovation works that have been ongoing at the ranch some of which includes, the total over haul of facilities at the water park which is now also ready for use by the public. “
The Special Adviser disclosed that plans are underway to fix the power situation at the ranch with a foreign company coming in to install Wind Turbine as an alternative source of power in the resort.
This installation would have already been in place if not for the lock down we are witnessing today due to the coronavirus pandemic. But as soon as the lock down order is lifted for the expatriates to come in, I can assure you that the problem of power at the Obudu ranch will be a thing of the past.”
Hon Bobby Ekpenyong thanked Governor Ben Ayade for all the support so far given to him and promised to follow through on the Governor’s commitment to bring the ranch back to life.
Commissioner for Tourism Devt. and Culture, Mr Eric Anderson was also at the Obudu Ranch since yesterday to inspect work and be part of test running of the cable car. Mr Anderson thanked His Excellency, Prof Ben Ayade for keeping to his word by ensuring that Obudu Ranch is back to its full capacity.
