Governor of Cross River State, Sir Ben Ayade, Sunday, flew Cally Air for the first time, describing the experience as wonderful.

Cally Air, which is wholly owned by Cross River State, commenced commercial operations about three weeks ago.

Speaking at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport Abuja, shortly after disembarking from a Cally Air flight from Calabar, the Governor said the experience of flying the airline was world class.

A visibly thrilled Ayade, said the experience was outstanding, adding that “it was smooth, fantastic and timely. I was thrilled by the take-off and landing of the aircraft. We got to Abuja 10 minutes earlier”.

According to him, ” CallyAir has a unique appeal. Its sheer size, aircraft brand, quality of flight and timelines makes the airline unique.”

The airline, which made its maiden flight into the Margaret Ekpo International Airport, Calabar two weeks ago, has since commenced daily flight in and out of the city to Abuja and Lagos.

The governor said the airline would help the state to unlock her economic potentials.

“It was a dream we had in 2017 occasioned by the high influx of traffic into Calabar and the monopoly of some airlines dominating the Calabar route,” Ayade stated.

The entrance of the airline into the aviation sector has already triggered ticket pricing war as other airlines have been forced to drastically reduce their fares in response to Cally Air tickets which can be purchased as low as seventeen thousand naira only.
