The Cross River State Carnival Commission has expressed appreciation to stakeholders, participants and residents following the successful staging of the 20th edition of Carnival Calabar, describing the milestone event as a collective achievement.
In a statement, the Chairman of the Commission, Gabe Onah, thanked all individuals and organisations that contributed to the planning and execution of the carnival, noting that their commitment and collaboration were key to delivering a memorable celebration.
He praised the efforts of carnival bands, security and protocol staff, sponsors, volunteers and state institutions, artistic creatives, revellers, environmental groups, safety and emergency staff, marketing teams, adhoc staff, etc whose dedication and commitment to the state made the most impact in the celebration of the 20th Anniversary of Carnival Calabar 2025 with theme Traces of Time.
“In addition, the state wishes to honour all visitors and citizens alike, for participating in the festival, and contributing to its successful run as Africa’s biggest street party at this 20th anniversary edition .
“May I congratulate the winners Calas Vegas for giving it all to win a well contested event.
“The children that participated, their parents that allowed and supported them to protect the future I greet you . The real winners are the community that hosted and treated all visitors with the usual Calabar hospitality and Africa’s warmest welcome.
“This reinforces the sweetness of the people and their well-loved governor.
“The commission is grateful to HE, the governor, for putting all the needed ingredients to make a successful 20th edition outing. The media that stood and supported the product deserves accolades.
“As we await the figures and reports of Carnival impact, may we stay committed to charting a path to greater success.
