“In addition, the state wishes to honour all visitors and citizens alike, for participating in the festival, and contributing to its successful run as Africa’s biggest street party at this 20th anniversary edition .

“May I congratulate the winners Calas Vegas for giving it all to win a well contested event.

“The children that participated, their parents that allowed and supported them to protect the future I greet you .  The real winners are the community that hosted and treated all visitors with the usual Calabar hospitality and Africa’s warmest welcome.

“This reinforces the sweetness of the people and their well-loved governor.

“The commission is grateful to HE, the governor, for putting all the needed ingredients to make a successful 20th edition outing. The media that stood and supported the product deserves accolades.

“As we await the figures and reports of Carnival impact, may we stay committed to charting a path to greater success.

“May the good Lord Almighty bless you all and grant you safe travels back to your respective destinations.

“Wishing you all a prosperous New Year ahead.”
