The Federal Airport Authority of Nigeria (FAAN), has notified its staff that due to the dwindling revenue stream of the agency caused by the pandemic it will not be able to pay the full salary for the month of May 2020.
In a statement signed by the General Manager, Administration, M.D. Musa, the agency said the measures taken were to ensure the survival of the organisation adding that it will however makeup for the reduction as soon as the revenue situation improves.
Similarly, General Manager, Corporate Communication, FAAN, Mrs. Henrietta Yakubu earlier said the agency is carefully and seriously working on a guideline, for the reopening of airport activities in the country.
Mrs Yakubu stated this while debunking a statement purportedly issued by the authority on the release of guidelines for flights resumption in the country.
“Our been drawn to a statement released by a certain Tayo Olu today, May 16, 2020 to the effect that the Federal Government of Nigeria, through FAAN has released a post- Covid 19 travel guideline for air travellers.”
“FAAN enjoined air travellers and the general public to ignore the content of the said release, as it emphatically stated that though it is carefully and seriously working on a guideline, the release did not emanate from them.
“According to FAAN, a post-Covid 19 travel guideline is still a work in progress and will be released at the appropriate time via “our official communication medium.”
