The Cross River State Government set to honour entrepreneurs and professionals who have distinguished themselves in their chosen careers in the state even as it celebrates World Entrepreneur Day 2020.
The event, according to calabarblog.com, also aim to launch the Spirit of Enterprise Academy, Spirit of Enterprise Magazine, the spirit of Enterprise Award nominees (2nd Edition ), Spirit of Enterprise theme song and Spirit of Enterprise Radio show and TV Series.
The Special Assistant to the governor of Entrepreneurship development, Mr Great Ogban while speaking in an interview with newsmen said that the World Entrepreneur’s Day celebration is a flag off for what he calls the “Spirit of Enterprise Planting Season” in the state.
We are going to plant the right words and attitude in the minds of our people, we shall plant enterprises across the 18 LGA to consolidate on the gains of the Governors Industrialization agenda.
He further mentioned that, It is a day to unveil Entrepreneurs and professionals who have distinguished themselves for excellence irrespective of the odds. The selection team have carefully picked 3 persons per Enterprise sectors that are peculiar and contributes to our business environments. They shall serve as Mentors to nurture every seed sown.
The World Entrepreneur’s Day is a day marked across the globe to create awareness for entrepreneurship, innovation and leadership.
The theme for this year’s event is “Celebrating Entrepreneurs ” – Building a resilient Business against All ODDS”.
Part of Activities to mark the event include, hosting a conference for SME’s strictly by invitation to dialogue strategies and actions to take for economic recovery and growth, given the impact of the pandemic on our business environment and transaction.
Guest’s list at the event includes Her Excellency Dr Linda Ayade, wife of the Governor as Special Guest of Honour, Rt Hon George Oben-Etchi as the Chairman of the occasion, Mr Nkeruwem Onung, Chairman Remlords Group as Keynote speaker, Hon. Ada Charles Chairman, Biase LGA and Hon.Meflyn Awanna SA Entrepreneurship Development AKS as Guest of Honours.
Other expected participants are budding entrepreneurs, policymakers, industry captains, Leading business owners and aspiring entrepreneurs etc.
Cross River State is moving with the spirit of Enterprise through the visionary leadership of the Governor Sen Prof Ben Ayade KSJI, who is the promoter of the Spirit of Enterprise as a catalyst to Africa’s development and growth.
