Cross River State, Governor of Bassey Otu, has said the state is expected to experience an increase in the number of tourists visiting the state with the approval of the State’s Executive Council for the resuscitation of the dairy farm and other ancillary operations at the Obudu Ranch Resort.
He said the action is aimed at bringing back the lost glory of the most temperate resort in Nigeria adding that with this development, there is an expected rise in tourists’ arrival at the Obudu Ranch facility.
Otu while speaking at the unveiling of the 2024 Carnival Calabar and Festival Theme, tagged “Shared Prosperity”, in Akwa Ibom, stated that part of the cinema facilities of the Kada cinema at the Marina Resort recently gutted by fire will soon be restored by virtue of another State Executive Council approval.
According to him, through the concerted effort of various stakeholders, Cross River State has since reclaimed the enviable status of the cleanest State in Nigeria.
“Our ‘clean and green’ environment is a deliberate initiative to enhance the visitor experience in the State.
“Since tourism cannot thrive in an atmosphere of chaos thereby blunting the enthusiasm of the visitors to the State, security of lives and property in the State have been given the pride of place in my administration. To this end, both the kinetic and intelligent elements of security architecture have been deployed as proactive measures to counter violent crimes. The State is therefore an investment haven for potential investors wishing to berth their tourism-related investments in the State”.
