NKUKWAK

The Cross River State Commissioner for Culture and Tourism Development, Mr. Eric Anderson, has hailed the Governor Ben Ayade led administration as a tourism-oriented government that is more committed to upscale all tourism offerings in the State.

Anderson gave the commendation the during NKUKWAK’s electrifying event celebrating Nigeria’s upcoming 60th independence anniversary at the Main Bowl, Cultural Centre, Calabar, noting that NKUKWAK celebrating Nigeria@60 and the World Tourism Day coinciding on the same day, is unique as it creates a wonderful platform to properly acknowledge His Excellency’s effort in ensuring Cross River State remains the tourism capital of the nation.

Tourism in Cross River State has flourished because Sen. Prof. Ben Ayade has not only preserved our tourism legacies but also injected innovations such as the upscaling of the Christmas Village, Bikers Parade, International Carnival, Miss Africa Pageant, AkwaCross Cycling Parade, amongst others that are laudable.

Also, this year’s World Tourism Day theme “Tourism and Rural Development”, is in line with this administration’s objectives of providing great opportunities for locals through tourism in all ramifications”, he added.

The Tourism Commissioner further appreciated all those that have contributed to the success of NKUKWAK since its inception in 2017, pledging its relentless effort to remain a vehicle for societal growth.

Commending NKUKWAK for indeed putting up a command performance as promised, the Commissioner for Local Government Affairs, Mrs Stella Odey, said NKUKWAK is worthy of export as it has become a tool for behavioural and social change, by orientating and re-orientating the citizenry about government’s policies.

The Managing Director, Cross River State Tourism Bureau, Mr. Utsu John Atsu gave the vote of thanks and encouraged the propagation of ecotourism in the State.
