Evatex Logistics Limited has given the Ghana Airports Company Limited (GACL) a seven-day ultimatum to reverse the termination of its revenue assurance contract or risk facing legal action.

According to graphic.com.gh, in a letter addressed to the Managing Director of GACL from its legal and management consultants, Evatex described the termination as unreasonable and taken in bad faith.

The company’s response follows a termination letter dated July 28, 2025, in which GACL’s Managing Director, Yvonne Nana Afriyie Opare, directed Evatex to demobilise and vacate the Kotoka International Airport (KIA) cargo terminal by August 27, 2025.

GACL reportedly based its decision on claims that no revenue concealment or recovery had been detected since Evatex commenced operations, resulting in no payments due to the company.

But Evatex, in its response letter dated July 28, 2025, said it was shocked by the decision, insisting it had already commenced operations, submitted reports for action, and had invested a total of $64.6 million in infrastructure tailored specifically to GACL’s requirements.

“Our client considers the intention to terminate the said contract as actuated by bad faith and unreasonableness,” the letter stated.

Evatex said that unless the termination letter is withdrawn within seven days of receipt, it would institute legal action to recover its capital investment and seek other appropriate relief.

The contract is currently under investigation by the Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) following reports of Evatex’s links to Strategic Mobilisation Ghana Limited (SML),

As part of the ongoing probe, former GACL Board Chairman Paul Adom-Otchere was invited by the OSP over contracts awarded during his tenure.
