Experts meet on Harnessing East Africa’s Aviation Potentials
Air traffic in East Africa is expected to double over the next 15 years.
As welcome as it may be, this development faces numerous challenges that include but are not limited to financial support, safety and security, and efficient management.
Consequently, a three-day conference and exhibition dubbed Modern Airports Africa Conference that is expected to bring together major players in Africa’s aviation sector to tackle the challenges facing airports across the continent.
Among the experts expected at the Kenya Civil Aviation Authority-endorsed event to be held January 18-20, 2017 at Villa Rosa Kempinsky Hotel in the Kenyan capital, Nairobi, shall include senior representatives of government, civil aviation, airports, providers of technology, , suppliers of airport equipment, consultants and contractors.
International Quality & Productivity Center (IQPC), the organisers of Modern Airports Africa, say the event shall “review the immediate requirements and business opportunities around improving Africa’s airport infrastructure.”
Those attending the conference and exhibition, IQPC say, shall:
• Gain insight into modernising airports by increasing its passenger and aircraft handling capacity
• Identify main tool in building a world class safety and security approach for airports across Africa
• Meet with top officials from current projects happening across the region, and
• Understand and overcome financial barriers when building and expanding airports across the region.
