Milkmaid

Nigeria’s Milkmaid movie has selected for the 93rd Oscars event in the category of Best International Feature Film to be held in April 2021.

A historic first eligible Oscar run for the country after the disqualification last year. Supporters of Nigeria’s blossoming film industry, its music and vibrant culture are called upon to support this Oscar campaign.

The movie highlights an important current topic, the humanity of victims of the insurgency in Nigeria and parts of sub-Saharan Africa, especially women and children. With an ambition to bring this cause to global attention, the movie also captures the beautiful and breath-taking natural landscapes of the region and samples a taste of the colourful Nigerian Hausa Fulani culture.

The MILKMAID stands a chance of making Nigeria proud on the world stage as it did in beating some stiff competition from films by film makers of African origin to win Best Film in AMAA.

There is a special screening of this film to generate support for it on its run for the Oscars.

The film will also be screened online to allow people who cannot make a physical appearance to participate.
