The top management of the Gambia Tourism Board, led by Director General Mrs. Ida Jeng-Njie, paid a courtesy visit to the Minister for Tourism, Arts and Culture, Honourable Abdoulie Jobe, following his recognition as the World’s Best Minister 2026 by the World Government Summit in Dubai.
The visit was meant to celebrate and share messages of goodwill with the Minister on his award, and to further thank him for his guidance and leadership in managing the affairs of the tourism sector.
In receiving the delegation, Minister Jobe said the award is not about him as an individual, but it is for the entire country as a whole.

He used the opportunity to thank the organizers for the recognition, describing it as a good step in the right direction for promoting Destination Gambia.
He finally called for teamwork and respect for authority to further advance the cause of making the Gambia the best destination for tourists.
It could be recalled that Minister Jobe was selected from a shortlist of 10 ministers for his outstanding leadership in translating policy into tangible results, driving innovation, and delivering measurable social impact.
The award recognizes ministers whose initiatives are scalable beyond national borders and inspire governments worldwide to improve public service delivery by leveraging advanced technologies and digital solutions.
