The Gambia’s tourism sector is actively positioning itself for significant growth in the Spanish market, a primary source of visitors, through robust participation at the 46th FITUR 2026 in Madrid.
The delegation, which included high-level representatives from the Ministry of Tourism and Culture and the Gambia Tourism Board (GTB), leveraged the global platform to strengthen partnerships and highlight the “Smiling Coast of Africa’s” diverse offerings.
The Gambian delegation led by Hon. Abdoulie Jobe, Minister of Tourism, Arts and Culture highlighted its beaches, national parks, and cultural heritage, emphasizing the country’s hospitality and its potential as a safe and attractive destination for international visitors. The 46th edition of FITUR 2026, took place from 21–25 January 2026 at the IFEMA Madrid Exhibition Centre, Spain.
The global tourism fair, spanning nine exhibition halls, provided an important platform for The Gambia to strengthen existing partnerships and explore new collaborations with Spanish and international tour operators and travel agents.
