Africa: Ghanaian Nana Kwame Dadzie’s Susuma Ensemble Crowned Traditional Musician of the Year at TGMAs

The Telecel Ghana Music Awards (TGMAs) has once again showcased the best of Ghana’s vibrant music scene, and this year, Nana Kwame Dadzie of the renowned Susuma Pan-African Dance Ensemble took home the coveted Traditional Musician of the Year award, solidifying his position as a leading figure in Ghana’s traditional music landscape.

According to ahotoronline.com, the 26th edition of the TGMAs occurred on Saturday, May 10, 2025, at the Grand Arena of the Accra International Conference Centre and the presentation of awards took place on Friday, June 6 at the La Palm Convention Centre as part of the Artiste of the Year (AOTY) celebrations.

Ahuma Bosco Ocansey, also known as Daddy Bosco, presented the award to Nana Dadzie. Daddy Bosco is the General Manager at Ahotor 92.3 FM presented the award to Nana Dadzie who is also the Domain Leader for Dance for the Ghana Culture Forum (GCF).

Nana Dadzie is a renowned performer and traditional musician with extensive experience. Nana Dadzie once won an award performing at Africa’s Biggest Street Party, Carnival Calabar.

Best Male Vocal Performance: Joe Mettle

Best Female Vocal Performance: Esther Goodwyll

Best Rap Performance: Kweku Smoke

Best Hiphop Song: Kweku Smoke (Holy Ghost)

Best Hiplife/Hiphop Artiste: Kweku Smoke

Best Highlife Artiste: Fameye
