In a significant step towards the development of the hospitality industry in Imo State, Governor Hope Uzodimma has announced the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Hassan Allam Holding and Punz Limited for the construction of a 200-room Imo Marriot Hotel in Owerri.
The partnership with Hassan Allam Holding and Punz Limited, two reputable companies with extensive experience in the construction and hospitality sectors, underscores the high standards that the State Government is setting for this project.
Hassan Allam Holding, an Egyptian conglomerate with a portfolio spanning multiple industries, brings its expertise in project management and construction to the table. Punz Limited, a Nigerian-based architectural design and building company, brings its local knowledge and understanding of the market to ensure the project aligns with the needs and expectations of the local environment.
The PPP-model employed for this project highlights the State Government’s forward-thinking approach. By leveraging financial support from renowned institutions like Afrexim Bank and Fidelity Bank Plc, the Governor has demonstrated a commitment to attracting private sector investment to drive development and create jobs for the people of Imo State.
With a planned completion period of just two years, this ambitious project will provide a significant boost to the local economy and tourism sector.
