Alhaji Nura Sani Kangiwa, director general of the National Institute for Hospitality and Tourism (NIHOTOUR), has received praises from the Governor of Kebbi State, Alhaji Atiku Bagudu, for organizing and supporting the Nura Sani Kangiwa Polo Tournament and Cultural Festival in Argungu, Kebbi State.
Governor Bagudu made this statement at the closing ceremony of the Seventh edition of the Polo Tournament and Cultural Festival.
He mentioned that the NIHOTOUR Boss, who is crucial to the program’s organization, has worked hard to make it a successful yearly event.
The Governor claimed that the Polo Tournament would compete with any other polo match in the nation.
Bagudu asked other people to do their best to contribute to the development of the State in any way they are able, just like the NIHOTOUR DG is doing.
He also praised the Emir of Argungu for his support, emphasizing that it was because of the Emir that Argungu had flourished in both sports and culture.
He praised the Kebbi people for their perseverance in pursuing excellence despite the State being surrounded by areas of insecurity.
He gave his word that the State would undoubtedly succeed in overcoming the challenge.
When he would have passed over to his successor, in 2023, Bagudu promised to return to the Tournament as a past Governor for the next event edition.
The winning teams—including the DG’s team – NSK FARMS Polo Team which he led, the NIHOTOUR Team, H. Hago Team, Ayatun Team, JRB Solar Team, and Osolo Team—were awarded laurels at the end of the competition.
The event was spiced up with dazzling cultural performances, drumming, and thrilling magical performances by the Argungu magicians.
