Kenya Airport Authority Reports Aircraft Incident

A domestic flight from Elwak airstrip in Mandera to Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) veered off Taxiway Echo shortly after landing at JKIA this afternoon, according to a statement from the Kenya Airports Authority (KAA).

The statement signed by the Acting Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer, JKIA, Dr. Mohamud Gedi, the flight, carrying 50 passengers, was safely landed, and all passengers and crew were accounted for with no injuries reported.

Airport emergency response teams were quickly activated, and the incident is being investigated by relevant aviation agencies.

Despite the incident, airport operations at JKIA remain normal.

The KAA is working to ensure the safe removal of the aircraft and reassures the public of its commitment to safety, security, and efficiency of airport operations.
