The California Legislature Assembly has awarded a Certificate of Recognition to Mrs. Toke Benson-Awoyinka, the Lagos State Commissioner for Tourism, Arts, and Culture, for her outstanding efforts in fostering cultural exchange and strengthening global partnerships.

The honor acknowledges her dedication to Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s vision of transforming Lagos into a world-class tourism hub.

According to a post on the official handle of the agency on instagram, it said the prestigious recognition celebrates her steadfast support for artists and musicians, whose creative contributions continue to enrich Lagos’ cultural and economic landscape.

Recall that Mrs. Benson-Awoyinka recently led a high-profile delegation alongside Officials from the Ministries of Transportation and Science and Technology, to engage key stakeholders in San Francisco, including the Mayor’s Office, the Film and Entertainment Commission, the Empire team, and the Office of the San Francisco State Representative Matt Haney.

Discussions focused on fostering city-state collaborations, enhancing cultural and music exchanges, and attracting investments in technology and innovation incubation hubs. Additionally, the team explored best practices in multimodal transportation and sustainable urban mobility solutions.

The recent international recognition of the Honourable Commissioner further underscores the Lagos State Government’s commitment to forging strategic global partnerships that drive cultural and economic development.
