LIAT 2020, a promising new airline supported by the government of Antigua and Barbuda, has successfully completed a series of training flights under the supervision of the Eastern Caribbean Civil Aviation Authority (ECCAA) as it moves closer to obtaining its Air Operator’s Certificate (AOC).
The airline is poised to launch scheduled services soon in collaboration with Air Peace, a leading Nigerian carrier.
According to antiguanewsroom.com, the flights, including two to St Kitts and back on Saturday and two more on Sunday, were closely watched by ECCAA, the regional aviation authority.
Prime Minister Gaston Browne announced this development on a radio show, receiving public praise.
LIAT 2020, in collaboration with Nigerian airline Air Peace, will soon receive three aircraft to further its operations.
More training flights are planned as LIAT 2020 progresses towards AOC approval.
