Africa: Miss World 2025 and Miss World Africa 2025 visit Tanzania to promote its culture tourism, heritage and attractions

On Tuesday, July 15, 2025, Tanzania warmly welcomed Miss World 2025, Suchata “Opal” Chuangsri, and Miss World Africa 2025, Hasset Dereje from Ethiopia, as they arrived in the country for an official visit.

According to thecitizen, the two titleholders are in Tanzania on a special visit aimed at promoting cultural exchange and showcasing the country’s rich heritage and tourism potential.

On arrival, they were received by former Miss Tanzania winners Rose Manfere (2020) and Halima Kopwe (2022), along with senior officials from the Ministry of Culture, Arts and Sports, including the Director of Arts Development, Emmanuel Ishengoma, and the National Arts Council (Basata) Executive Secretary, Kedmon Mapana.

In an official statement, Basata underscored the significance of the visit.

“This visit is intended to strengthen cultural and artistic ties between nations while highlighting Tanzania’s unique attractions through the presence of Miss World delegates. It offers a valuable platform to present our country’s beauty to the world through art, beauty, and tourism,” reads part of the statement.

The presence of Opal and Hasset is expected to enhance Tanzania’s visibility on the global stage as they tour key cultural sites, engage with local artists, and participate in media engagements and public events.

Their visit forms part of ongoing efforts by the government and stakeholders in the creative sector to promote Tanzania as a leading destination for culture and tourism in Africa.
