A 54-YEAR-OLD French tourist who went missing after going hiking in the Sossusvlei area, located in the southern part of the Namib Desert, in the Namib-Naukluft National Park of Namibia on Thursday morning has been found dead.
According to namibian.com.na, police chief inspector Elifas Kuwinga, said the French national went hiking with a group of other tourists and was last seen on Thursday at around 09h00 in the Deadvlei area at Sossusvlei. His body was discovered on Friday.

He has been identified as Nicolas Remondiere.
“Nicolas got separated from the group at some stage and was nowhere to be found,” Kuwinga said.
The police said a report was made by the group’s tour guide at about 15h00 and an immediate search was launched by the police, rangers and ministry of tourism staff.
