The Nigerian Aviation Handling Company Plc (NAHCO) has reaffirmed its industry leadership with major investments in new equipment and technology, announcing the acquisition of 271 ground support equipment (GSE) in the last three years as it hosted stakeholders to an appreciation dinner on Friday, December 5, 2025.

The event, which brought together partner airlines, cargo agents, regulators, and other industry players, was organized to celebrate the company’s partners and acknowledge their role in NAHCO’s operational success.

Speaking at the dinner, the Group Executive Director, Commercial & Business Development, Prince Saheed Lasisi, said NAHCO’s continued dominance in the aviation ground handling sector is built on a foundation of service excellence, innovation, and unwavering commitment to safety.

Lasisi noted that NAHCO has consistently set industry standards, maintaining its position as the benchmark for high-quality aviation support services.

“Our continued investment in equipment overhaul and the complete renewal of our ground support fleet, alongside the strategic deployment of a highly skilled workforce, has strengthened our ability to deliver safe, efficient and reliable services,” he said.

Reiterating NAHCO’s long-standing reputation for prioritising safety, he added:
“Safety above everything — that is what NAHCO is known for. We do not compromise. With the progress we have made and the partnerships we continue to nurture, we are confident in our capacity to deliver even greater value in the years ahead.”

Lasisi highlighted that in its drive for modernization, NAHCO recorded a major milestone by acquiring 35 new tractors in a single month, all of which have been commissioned.

“Our plan is a complete refleeting of our GSEs so that you will only see brand-new equipment anywhere NAHCO is operating,” he said.

He also elaborated on the company’s steps toward improving export cargo handling, especially in the processing and packaging of perishables.

According to him, NAHCO has invested in modern technology to eliminate export rejections of agricultural products and currently operates Nigeria’s only Export Processing Centre, with plans to replicate similar facilities nationwide.

Representatives of airlines, regulatory agencies, and cargo operators in attendance praised NAHCO for its excellent service delivery, rapid emergency response, and sustained commitment to partnership-driven growth.

The company said the appreciation dinner would remain an annual tradition, reaffirming its belief that its stakeholders remain central to its continuous success.
