As nations across the globe reel from the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic on the travel and tourism, many have already turned to the promotion of domestic tourism to revitalize the industry.
In Nigeria, Nasarawa State government is making concerted efforts to harness the various tourism attractions and cultural festivals in the state to propel tourism to the forefront.
Governor (Engineer) Abdullahi Sule, the Nasarawa State is engaging in partnership with tourism private sector in order to advance his vision for the State.
The State’s Tourism Team led by Hon. Dogo D. Shammah (Commissioner for Informational, Culture and Tourism, Nasarawa State) is already planning a festival slated for early December 2020.

The team also includes: Hajiya Lantana Ahmed, a former HOD, Theatre Arts Department at the Nasarawa State University, who has served previously as Commissioner for Information, Culture and Tourism, Nasarawa State, and Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Culture and Tourism.
Also part of the team is Major AY Bello, Convener of Nasarawa International Festival Group (nifestng), organizers of Annual Nasarawa Cultural Festival.
The Tourism Team has reached out to the President of NATOP Hajia Bilkisu Abdul to engender a viable partnership to drive tourism in Nasarawa State.
