Africa: New Ogun State Culture and Tourism Commissioner Vows Development as Olumo Rock Visit Highlights Commitment to Sector Growth

Following his recent appointment by the Governor of Ogun State, Dapo Abiodun, Hon Sesan Abolaji Fagbayi, the newly inaugurated Commissioner for Culture and Tourism in Ogun State, has wasted no time in getting to work. Before assuming this role, Fagbayi served as a member of the Ogun State Local Government Service Commission, and his swift start signals a proactive approach to advancing culture and tourism in the state.

According to dailytrend.com.ng, Apparently displaying competence on his new assignment, the Commissioner recently paid an official working visit to Olumo Rock in Abeokuta where he promised to make Ogun Culture and Tourism viable. Fagbayi expressed his readiness to ensure that the State tourism sector witness a new era of development.

He had also inspected offices and facilities in the ministry when he assumed duties at his office. The Commissioner visited the Old Governor’s Office at Okelewo, Cultural Center at Kuto and Olumo-Rock complex in Abeokuta, the state capital.

According to him, “The monitoring of projects and assessment tour of facilities will be a continuous exercise to ensure prompt delivery of assigned projects and it will also helps the ministry to get a good understanding of how they carry out their operations”. Hon. Fagbayi also commended the state Governor, Prince Dapo for making the state, more safe and for providing enabling environment through friendly business laws, saying it translate into more economic dividend for our dear state.

He said no doubt, his new portfolio as a Commissioner for Culture and Tourism will contribute positively to the development of the state Meanwhile, stakeholders in the Culture and Tourism sectors have started pledging commitments and cooperation to the Commissioner in order to ensure sure realisation of his mandate.

Chairman of the Federal Institute for Tourism Professionals of Nigeria (FITPN) Ogun State Chapter and Director of Studies Aerovessel Schools, Hon Abolaji J. Kelani on 25th of October, 2023, paid a visit to the honorable Commissioner. The meeting was strategic as both of them discussed issues that will bring about transformation to the Ogun State Tourism. Hon. Abolaji Kelani expressed his readiness to support and partner with the Ministry using his wealth of experience in the industry. “With your emergence, we are celebrating a new chapter in Ogun State’s cultural and tourism development” he assured the Commissioner.
