As part of engagements in Katsina State, the Director General of the Nigerian Tourism Development Authority (NTDA), Olayiwola Awakan GrPr, embarked on an enriching cultural tour of the state, a land deeply rooted in history and tradition.

The Director General was accompanied by Dr. Kabir Ali Masanawa, Director and Chief Executive Officer of the Katsina State History and Culture Bureau and Head of Explore Katsina State.

One of the highlights of the visit was Durbi Takusheyi, a historic settlement in Mani Local Government Area, renowned for its ancient burial site and its strong connection to past emirs and great leaders who once ruled the land. On arrival, the Director General was warmly received by the Village Head, Shamsu Yusuf Galadima. In a powerful display of cultural hospitality, he was dressed in traditional attire befitting a leader and ceremonially turbaned, symbolizing respect, unity, and acceptance into the rich heritage of the people.
