Tour Brokers International (TBI), representing The Royal Caribbean Cruise, at this year’s Akwaaba African Travel Market, in an effort to woo more Africans to choose cruises as alternative destinations, has for the very first time in the annual travel exhibitions offered a free cruise experience to winners at Akwaaba. TBI also gave out 3 free passes to the newly opened Dubai Park resorts.

The ticket was handed over to the winners through a draw on the third day of the travel exhibitions at the end of the maiden edition of the African Travel and Tourism Conference (ATTC) at the 12th Akwaaba which had over 2000 delegates in attendance from 15 participating countries.

The winners, Foluke Abodunrin of Folabod Travels & Tours, Musa Adelaja of Musampa Travels & Tours Limited and Modupe Albert of Aviation Logistics were presented with a ticket to visit the new Dubai parks.

One of the winners, Modupe Albert said it would be lovely to go on a cruise noting that it would be an experience to cherish for a long while.

Tour Brokers International Nigeria, which has been in the forefront of championing cruises as a holiday destination in Nigeria and specializes in packaging tours, is the largest tour operator in the country, also has a branded operational Royal Caribbean Cruise Line office in Lagos.

Recall that at the unveiling of the new office in Lekki in March this year, Managing Director, TBI, Uloma Egbuna, said that, ‘Nigerians, visitors and expatriates no longer need to book their cruises via USA nor UK, but can discuss their requirements in the comfort of TBI’s offices in upscale Lekki Phase 1.

Cruising is the holiday of the 21st century! A number of people are tired of doing the Europe holidays whereby you book your flight ticket, you go to the destination, you stay in the hotel and all that. People are looking for other forms of adventure. And so what we have done is to bring that adventure into Nigeria for people.

‘Besides, you will find out that it is one of the cheapest means to travel, in the sense that you pay once and then you are probably visiting four or five countries in one cruise on a seven night cruise. You don’t have pack and unpack, or change flights. So, I take off from Barcelona for example, I find myself in Italy, I take off from Italy I find myself in Greece. I take off from Greece I find myself in Turkey! And in all of these I haven’t had to pack and unpack, I haven’t had to change flights. So, it is all encompassing and because you pay once and you get all the value.

‘Nigerians are looking for value for money at this point in time, with the present economic situation. So, we are saying there are other ways to enjoy your vacation without stressing yourself and having it at good prices. And then we all know that Nigerians love to travel with children and we are family people and cruising is one of the easiest vacations you can have with your children.

The parents are not stressed and then the children are having a holiday of a life time. You don’t have to border about what you children are eating, because you unlimited food’.
TBI has been in the forefront of championing cruises as a holiday destination in Nigeria, and welcomes both first-time cruisers as well as veterans of the seas to discover the best value holiday on the planet.

And talking about first time cruisers, Mr. Ikechi Uko, organizer of the Akwaaba African Travel Market, has just joined that party, as he reveals it on his Facebook page!

Writing from Florida where he would join the Royal Caribbean on a cruise from Miami to Barcelona, he further informed of another great feat in history which involves the cruise ship as he informs of his absence from this year’s World Travel Market (WTM) in London.

In his words, ‘This is the time for World Travel Market in London. I am always there to meet with friends and Family but this year, history is being made in Florida. The three biggest Ships in the World are meeting at Sea for the first time in history. They are meeting to welcome the Harmony of the Seas, the youngest and now the Biggest Cruise ship in the World on its Maiden Voyage to America.

‘This is my first Cruise ship Experience. I have done maiden flights on Airplanes so this Royal Caribbean Cruise invitation is my first Ship Cruise. From Miami to Bahamas we go. I will keep you posted as we sail the Seas. Meanwhile, guys, enjoy Excel Centre in London. I will follow proceeding from the Seas’.

Mr. Vincenzo Orlandini of Suffy Cruises and Tours, reacting to Ikechi’s post said, ‘Dear Ikechi, welcome to the world of cruising!
