The Government of Senegal has announced updated entry requirements, confirming that international travelers will no longer be required to present vaccination certificates upon arrival, in a move aimed at simplifying border procedures and encouraging travel to the country.
In a communiqué issued on March 9, 2026, the Ministry of African Integration, Foreign Affairs and Senegalese Abroad clarified that vaccination against yellow fever, diphtheria, pertussis, tetanus (DPT), measles, and hepatitis A and B is now recommended solely for personal health protection for travelers arriving from countries not affected by epidemic or endemic outbreaks.
The ministry emphasized that presenting an international vaccination card is no longer a mandatory condition for entry into Senegalese territory.
Officials noted that the policy adjustment aligns with current public health assessments and reflects efforts to facilitate smoother travel while maintaining safety standards.
The announcement is expected to ease travel planning for tourists, business visitors, and members of the Senegalese diaspora, as Senegal continues efforts to strengthen connectivity and promote international engagement.
