premium event spaces

Renting event halls in Lagos and Abuja has become increasingly essential for hosting everything from corporate meetings and conferences to social gatherings and private celebrations.

According to nairametrics, costs vary widely, shaped by the size of the hall, the number of guests, the duration of the event, and additional services such as catering and audio-visual support.

Larger halls with premium facilities naturally attract higher fees, while smaller, more intimate spaces are typically more budget-friendly.

Because most hotels provide customized quotes rather than fixed rates, understanding the variables that influence pricing is crucial. Organizers need to consider not only the base rental fee but also ancillary costs like décor, technical support, service staff, and catering packages.

Timing also matters; weekends and peak seasons tend to carry higher rates, while weekday bookings may offer more competitive pricing.

Careful planning and clear communication with hotel event coordinators are essential to avoid unexpected costs and ensure that the space meets the specific needs of the event. Whether hosting a corporate summit, a workshop, or a celebratory reception, budgeting for all aspects of the venue hire is critical.

By factoring in these considerations, businesses and individuals can secure a suitable hall that aligns with both their vision and their budget.

  1. Eko Hotel & Suites
Cost-N10 million-N15 million (price can vary)
Eko Hotels & Suites, established in 1977 as Eko Holiday Inn, is one of Nigeria’s most iconic and expansive hospitality landmarks. Located on Victoria Island, Lagos, the hotel was designed by renowned architect Oluwole Olumuyiwa.

Located within Eko Hotels & Suites, Victoria Island, the Eko Convention Centre stands as one of West Africa’s largest and most prestigious event venues. Renowned for hosting major global conferences, exhibitions, and entertainment shows, including the GITEX 2025 Expo and the Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards (AMVCA), it remains the top choice for high-profile gatherings.

The venue accommodates up to 6,000 guests, with flexible configurations: 3,000–3,500 for banquets, 250–300 booths for exhibitions, 5,000 standing for concerts, and 7,000 in theatre style. It also offers three additional halls and eleven meeting rooms for breakout sessions.

  1. Transcorp Abuja
Cost: N12 million-N25million(subject to change based on other variables)
Transcorp Hilton Abuja, long regarded as one of the capital city’s premier venues for conferences and high-profile gatherings, continues to withhold fixed rental rates for its event halls from public platforms. The hotel provides pricing only by quotation, a system that allows it to adjust costs based on event size, duration, and the specific services requested by clients.

Based on research carried out by Nairametrics, hall rates start at N12 million for a seating capacity of 150 people, while its congress hall of 300-400 people costs N25 million exclusive of VAT and service charges. The hotel provides two slots for event duration, 7 am to 5 pm and 5 pm to 11 pm.

The costs for these event halls will be reviewed at the end of the year, and current prices listed in this article are susceptible to change, typically depending on a range of variables, including the booking date, required hours, guest count and the inclusion of services such as catering, audiovisual equipment, lighting and staffing, many of which are billed separately.

As a result, event organisers often receive highly tailored quotations rather than a standard rate card.

An older listing on the booking platform HotelPlanner offers one of the few glimpses into historical pricing. According to the site, Congress Hall was previously listed at about $9,290(N13,4 million) for a half-day rental and the same rate for evening use. These figures may vary and do not reflect add-on services or recent market conditions.

The hotel’s event offerings have also expanded significantly with the introduction of the Transcorp Hotels Event Centre, now the largest venue of its kind in central Abuja. Covering 3,000 square metres of event space and accommodating up to 5,000 guests, the facility marks a major addition to the city’s convention landscape.

Designed around flexibility, nearly all sections of the centre can be partitioned, extended or reconfigured, allowing multiple events or breakout sessions to run simultaneously.
