The company said: “We wish to address recent misinformation circulating in the media concerning the operations at Taita Hills and Salt Lick Safari Lodge and esteemed General Manager. As a company deeply committed to integrity, fairness, and ethical conduct, we believe it is essential to provide accurate information and reaffirm our dedication to our staff, clients, and the reputation we have built over the years.
“At the same time, we remain a pillar of the hospitality industry in Kenya and are proud of the opportunity to promote this wonderful destination to all of our esteemed guests.
“Regarding the allegations of discrimination, racism and hostility we categorically reject these claims. Such accusations are not only baseless but also malicious in intent, aiming to tarnish the well-regarded reputation of the company. Taita Hills and Salt Lick Safari Lodge operate on core principles of respect, inclusion, and fairness. We take immense care in fostering a workplace where diversity is celebrated, and every employee is treated with dignity and respect.

“Our commitment to corporate social responsibility remains steadfast, with over 80% of our team hailing from the local community. “The video circulating is over a year old. The situation was thoroughly addressed through our internal processes with corrective measures and sincere apologies extended accordingly. It is important to emphasize that all staff members involved remain valued employees of Taita Hills and Salt Lick Safari Lodge. No harm was caused to staff, furthermore several of the team members have since been promoted in recognition of their outstanding contributions and performance improvements.

“We firmly refute the accusation that employees have been denied their leave or off days. The well-being of our staff is a top priority, the General Manager and Human Resource department are acutely aware of the demands of the hospitality industry.
