Tanzanian President Samia Suluhu Hassan has appointed Dr Thereza Mugobi as the Director General of the Tanzania Tourist Board (TTB), officially confirming her in the position she had previously held in an acting capacity.
Dr Mugobi served as Acting Director General of the Tanzania Tourist Board before her appointment was confirmed.
Her confirmation formalises her leadership of the institution responsible for promoting Tanzania as a leading tourism destination in international and domestic markets.
The Tanzania Tourist Board plays a key role in marketing the country’s tourism attractions, including its wildlife safaris, national parks, Mount Kilimanjaro and Zanzibar’s beaches. Dr Mugobi’s appointment comes as Tanzania continues to strengthen its tourism profile and attract more visitors to the country.
