Speke Resort Convention Centre

Speke Resort Convention Centre in Munyonyo is set to host the 9th edition of the Pearl of Africa Tourism Expo (POATE) from May 21st to 23rd, 2026.

This world-class venue, which gained global prominence after hosting the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) and G77+China summits, will once again become the epicenter of East African tourism, while reinforcing Uganda’s position as a leading hub for tourism business and investment in East Africa.

Organised by the Uganda Tourism Board, POATE 2026 with the theme ‘Wanderlust: Its Your Time to Thrive’ is expected to bring together international buyers, tour operators, investors, airlines, hospitality players, and media from across the globe for a multi-day showcase of Uganda’s tourism offerings.

POATE has grown into one of Africa’s most important tourism expos, providing a platform for destination marketing, business networking, and investment promotion. The 2026 edition is expected to highlight Uganda’s diverse attractions—from wildlife safaris and gorilla trekking to cultural heritage and adventure tourism.

Participants will also engage in business-to-business meetings, exhibitions and familiarization trips designed to connect global buyers with local tourism operators. Tourism officials say the expo will not only drive visitor arrivals but also strengthen Uganda’s brand visibility on the global stage, while creating opportunities for partnerships and investment across the tourism value chain. As preparations gather pace, stakeholders are optimistic that POATE 2026 will deliver strong outcomes in terms of business deals, destination promotion and long-term growth for Uganda’s tourism sector.
