The Zambia Tourism Agency (ZTA) has welcomed the introduction of direct flights between Lusaka and Manzini by Eswatini Air, describing the development as a significant step toward strengthening regional connectivity, trade, and tourism within Southern Africa.
Speaking during a press briefing, ZTA Acting Chief Executive Officer Ms. Abigail Shansonga characterized the launch as a strategic milestone, noting that it reflects Eswatini’s confidence in Zambia as a viable and attractive destination.
“This route stands as a testament to the increasing demand for seamless travel options that support economic growth and cross-border collaboration,” she said.
Eswatini Air Director Commercial, Mr. Getaneh Woldemichael, described the new route as a critical milestone in enhancing airline connectivity, highlighting the airline’s commitment to affordability through competitive fares aimed at making air travel more accessible.
Meanwhile, the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) Director Finance Mr. Mulenga Bwalya has also welcomed the development, stating that the direct flights will further strengthen regional connectivity and support tourism growth.
Airline Pros Zambia General Manager Ms. Helen Ngwira Mwamba noted that the new route resolves longstanding connectivity challenges between Zambia and Eswatini.
The Lusaka–Manzini route is scheduled to commence on April 1, 2026, with flights operating twice weekly on Wednesdays and Fridays.
